Position Overview: The Finance Committee Chair is responsible for overseeing the financial operations and strategy of APISA. This role requires strong leadership, financial acumen, and the ability to work collaboratively with other committee members and club leadership to ensure the financial health and sustainability of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Oversight:
- Lead the financial committee in developing, implementing, and monitoring the club’s budget and financial plans.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to the club’s board and membership.
- Budget Development:
- Collaborate with other committees and club officers to prepare an annual budget that aligns with the club’s goals and objectives.
- Review and adjust the budget as necessary throughout the year.
- Financial Reporting:
- Work with Treasurer on the financial report.
- Provide guidance and insights to help inform decision-making processes.
- Fundraising and Revenue Generation:
- Identify and pursue opportunities for fundraising and sponsorships to support the club’s initiatives.
- Develop strategies to enhance the club’s revenue streams. Reach outside of CCC to gain funds.
- Compliance and Governance:
- Ensure the club adheres to financial policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation in compliance with best practices.
- Committee Leadership:
- Lead and motivate the financial committee members, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
- Schedule and facilitate regular committee meetings, setting agendas and ensuring follow-up on action items.
- Strategic Planning:
- Participate in long-term strategic planning efforts, providing financial insights to support the club’s vision and objectives.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, or related fields.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and stakeholders.
- Leadership experience, preferably in a committee or organizational setting.
- Familiarity with financial software and tools is a plus.
Commitment: This is a volunteer position requiring a commitment of 2 hours per week, with meetings held weekly.
